No matter what the circumstance may be, there is no perfect time to quit a job you just started. The longer you wait, the better it will be for you professionally. However, it is always preferred to provide your employer with at least two weeks’ notice of your resignation to give them time to find a replacement.
How do I inform my current employer of my new job?
Tell him or her that you’re going to be putting in your notice today, and briefly explain why. You needn’t go on and on, you needn’t go into detail. Just explain, briefly, that you’ve received an offer you’ve decided to accept and are moving on. That is not a good idea if you feel you could be tempted to stay.
Do I resign first or accept offer first?
The golden rule for resigning to take up post in a new job is not to resign until you have a written job offer in your hand, which includes a start date and details the salary and all the pertinent benefits and perks. If possible, don’t resign until you have a company signed employment contract.

Sometimes, even when you do everything right, a new job isn’t what you had expected it would be. It can happen – even when you’ve carefully researched the organization, weighed the pros and cons of the job offer, and thought you had made a good decision. Jobs don’t always turn out like you would have hoped or as you would have expected.
When to start looking for a new job?
Time to find a new gig. Trust your instincts. Right or wrong, you need to start thinking about your resume and how you position this potentially very short stint on your resume. If it is just a few months and you can find something quickly, no harm no foul.
Is there a good fit between a new employee and the company?
There simply may not be a good fit between the new employee and the job or company, even though both theyand the organization thought it would work out. You may be feeling like you want to quit already, even though you have just started. You don’t have to stay, but you should do your best to leave on a positive note.
Can a person back out of a new job?
There are very few cases where I’d advise even considering taking a different job right after starting a new one, because doing so can harm your employer, your reputation, and even other job-seekers.
