The four sectors in the American economy are Government, For-Profit or Business, the Nonprofit or Independent, and Households or Family. While we often think of these as separate entities, they are often inter-dependent. Following is a brief description of each of the four sectors in American Society.

Household services are basic services of a domestic nature that are required for the proper running and maintenance of your household. Household services may include: cooking. assistance with grocery shopping (if home delivery is not available) house cleaning.
Who are the members of the household sector?
The household sector includes the entire population of society. It includes all of the consumption-seeking members of society–the entire population. It IS society. In effect, the economy exists to satisfy the wants and needs of the household sector.Members of the household sector also own all of the factors of production, all resources.
How does the household sector receive its income?
The household sector owns all the factors of production that is land, labor, capital and enterprise. This sector receives income in the form of rent, wages, interest and profit, by selling the services of these factors to the business sector.
What are the macroeconomic sectors of the household sector?
The share of gross domestic product purchased by the household sector is termed consumption expenditures. This is one of four macroeconomic sectors. The other three are business sector, government sector, and foreign sector. The household sector includes the entire population of society.
